Can't view files in recycle bin

Post by sundos » Fri Nov 08, 2019 7:17 am

My recycle bin appears empty even though I know files have been deleted to it. I also have show hidden files checked. Can someone tell me why I can't find them. I just deleted them less than an hour ago.

Many thanks

What version of Windows 10 are you currently using?

There are a couple things that may have caused this:

1. You Shift+Deleted the files, these will skip the Recycle Bin altogether and be deleted permanently and immediately. You may also have "bypass Recycle Bin on deletion turned on". Additionally, if the Recycle Bin max size is set too small then files will immediately be deleted.
2. There is an early bug with 1903 with Hidden Files not actually showing. You may need to disable this, reboot, then renable, and reboot once more.

Resetting the hidden files seem to fix the issue. I was beating my head trying to figure that one out.

Many thanks again!
